Dimulai dari Jalan Pasar, Jalan Gambir, Lr. Gambir, Jalan Temiang, Jalan Merdeka, hingga ke Jalan Pos, dan berakhir di Jalan Pasar Ikan. Satu-persatu Syahrul temui warga Tionghoa untuk bersilaturahmi, baik yang sedang berjualan di ruko maupun warga yang berada di sepanjang jalan Kota Lama.
Syahrul mengatakan, pembagian jeruk serta kartu ucapan ini adalah sebagai bentuk perhatian Pemerintah Kota Tanjungpinang kepada warga Tionghoa yang merayakan imlek. “Tujuan utama saya keliling mengunjungi warga Tionghoa adalah untuk bersilatirahmi sekaligus untuk memberikan ucapan selamat Tahun Baru Imlek tahun 2019,” ungkapnya.
Sebelum menjabat sebagai Walikota, Syahrul pada tahun lalu juga melakukan kegiatan seperti ini, tentunya untuk bersilaturahmi bersama warga tionghwa yang merayakan Tahun Baru Imlek. “Hingga saat ini setelah menjadi Walikota, tetap saya lakukan dan akan terus berlanjut hingga tahun tahun berikutnya, tentunya untuk mengayomi seluruh warga, setiap ada kegiatan kegiatan hari besar, Pemerintah akan terus melakukan silaturahmi, agar rasa kebersamaan dan kepedulian ini tetap terus terjalin, antara Pemerintah Kota Tanjungpinang bersama seluruh warga,” tutup Syahrul.
