Pembukaan itu ditandai dengan tendangan perdana oleh Gubernur Nurdin. Setelah itu dilangsungkan pertandingan perdana kesebelasan Bagan FC dengan Marinir FC.
Nurdin mengucapkan selamat atas digelarnya turnamen ini. Dan ini suatu kebanggaan, karena bola kaki di Kepri kian hari makin bergairah.
Pembukaan Perpat Cup sendiri dilakukan langsung Ketua BP Batam Lukita Dinansyah Tuwo. Sebanyak 42 tim kesebelasan ikut ambil bagian dalam pertandingan yang memperebutkan piala Ketua BP Batam. Pertandingan yang berlangsung satu bulan terhitung dari tanggal 10 Maret hingga 20 April 2018 ini memperebutkan total hadiah sebesar Rp60 juta.
Ketua BP Batam Lukira Dinarsyah Tuwo berharap, kalau Perpat Cup 2018, menjadi ajang meningkatkan kamampuan seluruh warga Batam yang cinta dan punya hobi sepak bola.(Red)
