Topik seminar yang disampaikan oleh dua nara sumber yakni Ibu Afitri Safitri, S.PSI., M.M., CH.T dari Dinas Kebudayaan Provinsi Kepri dan Letkol Laut (K) dr. Rudy Cahyono, SP.KJ dari Rumkital Dr. Mediyato Suratani Tanjungpinang dihadiri Pejabat Utama Mako Lantamal IV, Karumkital Dr. Mediyato Suratani, Para Kepala Dinas dan Kepala Satuan Kerja di lingkungan Lantamal IV, Pengurus dan perwakilan Korcab IV Daeraha Jalasenastri Armada I, Perwakilan Wan TNI dan Polwan serta Pegawai Negeri Sipil Wanita Mako Lantamal IV.
Komandan Lantamal IV Laksamana Pertama TNI R. Eko Suyatno, S.E., M.M., dalam sambutan tertulis yang dibacakan Aspers Danlantamal IV Kolonel Laut (KH) Dede Komarudin, S.Pd., M.M., mengatakan pengarusutamaan gender atau disingkat PUG adalah strategi yang dilakukan secara rasional dan sistematis untuk mencapai dan mewujudkan kesetaraan dan keadilan gender dalam sejumlah aspek kehidupan manusia yaitu rumah tangga, masyarakat dan negara, melalui kebijakan dan program yang memperhatikan pengalaman, aspirasi, kebutuhan dan permasalahan perempuan dan laki-laki ke dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pemantauan dan evaluasi dari seluruh kebijakan dan program diberbagai bidang kehidupan dan pembangunan.
Tujuan akhir dari pelaksanaan PUG adalah transformasi dari keadaan tidak setara antara perempuan dan laki-laki dalam hak dan kondisi sosial, menjadi setara bagi keduanya serta terpenuhinya kebutuhan praktis dan strategi gender serta mendapat manfaat yang sama dan adil dalam proses pembangunan, ujar Danlantamal IV.
Dalam memperingati HUT ke-65 Kowal selain seminar PUG juga akan dilaksanakan beberapa kegiatan diantaranya lomba menghias tumpeng dan ziarah nasional masing-masing pada tanggal 12 Desember 2018 dan 3 Januari 2019 serta acara puncak upacara parede dan tasyakuran pada tanggal 7 Januari 2019.
