Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Penanaman Modal Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu dan Tenaga Kerja (DPMPTSPTK) Kabupaten Bintan Hasfarizal Handra mengatakan bahwa usulan angka UMK yang diusulkan oleh Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Bintan kepada Pemerintah Provinsi Kepri dalam hal ini Gubernur Prov Kepri berdasarkan PP Nomor 78 Tahun 2015 tentang Pengupahan. Adapun penghitungannya adalah angka inflasi ditambah angka pertumbuhan ekonomi dan dikalikan dengan UMK 2018. Dari penghitungan tersebut, didapat angka kenaikan sebesar Rp 249.943,- atau menjadi Rp 3.362.561.
