Hal ini disampaikannya dalam acara Ulang Tahun Dewa Hiang Thiang Siang Tie di Senggarang, Selasa (16/10).
Ia mengatakan dengan keberagaman suku, bangsa, budaya dan agama seluruh masyarakat dapat lebih bersatu lagi untuk saling toleransi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. “Tanpa adanya toleransi kita akan terpecah belah.
Tanjungpinang merupakan suatu daerah yang kompleks. Memiliki berbagai suku bangsa yang hidup disini. Semuanya bersatu padu dalam bingkai kebhinekaan.” Ungkapnya.
“Rahma berharap melalui kegiatan ini dapat mempererat hubungan sosial dan silaturahmi antar masyarakat lintas agama dan lintas budaya. “Ini budaya kita, apapun agamanya dan suku bangsanya kita harus saling menghormati. Kita harus mempererat hubungan sosial dan silaturahmi antar umat beragama.” Jelasnya.
Selain itu Ketua Penyelenggara Kegiatan, Ahua juga menyampaikan ucapan terima kasih kepada Wakil Walikota Tanjungpinang yang telah hadir ditengah-tengah masyarakat dan ia juga menyampaikan aspirasi masyarakat untuk dibuat pasar yang representatif di Senggarang. “Kami masyarakat Senggarang menginginkan sebuah pasar yang representatif.
Selama ini kami berbelanja di emperan kelenteng dan tempat-tempat yang sekiranya lapang. Semoga dapat direalisasikan.” Ungkap Ahua.
Anggota DPRD Provinsi Kepri, Rudy Chua, SE, MH dalam sambutannya juga mengapresiasi kegiatan tersebut dan berterimakasih kepada Wakil Walikota Tanjungpinang yang telah berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tersebut. “Terimakasih ibu Wakil Walikota Tanjungpinang yang telah hadir ditengah-tengah masyarakat Tionghoa di Senggarang.” Jelasnya.
