Jemaat yang sedang menghadiri misa terluka, begitu pula dengan Pastor Karl-Edmund Prier SJ, biasa dipanggil Romo Prier,
“Pelaku datang sudah dengan menghunuskan pedang. Saya yang terkena pertama kali,” ujar Permadi, Minggu, kepada Kompas. Permadi pun memperlihatkan punggungnya yang terkena sabetan pedang dari pelaku.
Setelah melukai Permadi, pelaku yang masuk gereja dari pintu selatan kemudian terus merangsek ke dalam gereja. Sekitar 10 orang umat kemudian terluka dengan mayoritas luka berada di kepala.
Umat sebenarnya berupaya menangkap pelaku. Namun, karena pelaku terus mengayunkan pedang, kejadian sulit dicegah, bahkan pelaku bisa mencapai altar untuk kemudian melukai Pastor Prier yang sedang memimpin misa.( Red)
